Making A Purchase

Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Amex cards. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Back ordered items are not charged until they are shipped. All items are offered subject to availabilty. Whilst we carry a massive range of stock placing an order does not guarantee the item is available. You will be notified of any out of stock items.

By placing an order with Coghlans you confirm you are of minimum legal age to purchase knives or any alcohol as set out by local legislation. Coghlans reserves the right not to supply knives or alcohol to anyone who is, or we believe to be, not of mimimum age to purchase as set out by statutory legislation.

Outside catering events

Venues used for outside catering events must comply with the prevailing Heath & Safety Regulations and the Food Hygiene Regulations. We work to a minimum standard which requires :

* running water & drainage
* adequate cooking facilities (gas or electric)
* electricity supply
* hand wash basin

It is the clients obligation to ensure the necessary facilities are provided. If facilities are not to our standard we reserve the right to void the contract with all expenses and losses incurred payable by the client.

As standard our charges do not cover ancillary items such as tables, chairs and linen - please request a quotation for these items.

Shipping And Handling

All goods are despatched Mainland UK only via our carrier. Please allow 5 working days from time of order for stocked items. Please allow extra time during the busy Christmas period.

All deliveries must be signed for unless you request items to be left unsigned when completing the transaction. Items left unsigned are at your own risk. Coghlans and our delivery agents cannot accept any resposibility for loss or damages without a signature.

In the rare event of a breakage or damage to the box please note the delivery ticket accordingly and inform us immediately. Our delivery agents will not inform us of and breakages of losses. Please quote your order reference at all times.

Please ensure the correct address is provided and recipients are able to accept deliveries. Refused and failed deliveries will be returned back to Coghlans at a cost of £14.50 payable by the sender. If no one is available to receive the goods our carrier will notify the recipient of the attempted delivery with a "Card" placed through the letter box. If the items are not claimed within 5 days they will be returned to Coghlans at a cost of £14.50 payable by the sender.

Delivery Schedule

We aim to deliver your order right away. We will normally send your order to youwithin 10 business days. You will be notified of any delays due to out of stock items.

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges

All prices are shown inclusive of VAT at 17.5%

Credit Card Security

All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. The "Golden Padlock" visible in your browsers status bar is you peace of mind for security.

Cooking Expert do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Returns Policy

Under the Home Shopping : Distance Selling Regulations private purchasers have the right to cancel the order up to 7 days after receipt of items if the items have not been used. This does not apply to items made to a purchasers own specification (eg: personalised labels, personalisation, own branding etc).

Cancellation of orders must be made by letter, fax or email. A phone call cancellation is not enough. It is the customers duty to take full care of all items.

Returning of items is the resonsibility of the customer who is liable for the cost of returns. The customer must ensure all reasonable care is taken to ensure the safe return of items and in their original packaging where appropriate. Failure to return at the customers expense (except where the items are faulty or do not comply with the contract) Barrels & Bottles will recover the items and offset the amount against any refund due. If the items are faulty or do not comply with the contract Barrels & Bottles will be liable for return charges.

Refunds for returned and cancelled orders will be made as soon as possible and within 30 days of return.

The Home Shopping : Distance Selling Regulations does not apply to Business purchases.
