Learn how to cook
Coghlans offers a range of food cookery courses specifically designed to appeal to cooks of all abilities - from complete novices to experienced chefs alike.
Each cooking course is undertaken in a relaxed and informal environment, but with clear emphasis on superb quality and practical advice in the kitchen.
Every cookery course promises top-level tuition using only the freshest ingredients and experienced tutors - most of whom are one of only 120 Master Chefs of Great Britain - recognised throughout the UK for providing excellence and innovation in the culinary domain.
All events that are hosted by Coghlans on private dining or outside catering, are catered for by our highly skilled tutors. When you are entertaining at Coghlans you can rest assured that you will have highly skilled professionals attending to your every need.
Cookery courses where we teach people to cook on different programme always take their own produce home.
Some catering colleges run restaurants using the students to cook for diners. This is not something that ever happens at Coghlans. If you are being taught to cook you will take your own produce home with you.
If you have special menus or dishes that you would like us to cook please call Janet on 01246 453131 to arrange.
Full Day Cookery Courses
All full day cookery courses commence at 9.30am. Tea, coffee and pastries are served on arrival, students then go into the cookery school.
After a brief health and safety talk students begin their cooking. Regular breaks are given during the day and plenty of refreshments are on hand. Depending on the course students have a two course lunch at 1.00pm or cook until 2.00pm and eat the meal they have prepared during the day .
Full recipes are provided on every course. Everything is supplied - all we ask is they wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the kitchen.
The day finishes at around 4.30pm after a chance to ask the chef tutor any questions regarding the days cookery.
